In 1597, the sixth year of the Imjin War, Joseon was in a state of turmoil due to a prolonged war. With the Japanese army advancing towards Hanyang at an alarming speed, the nation faced the threat of collapse. General Yi Sun-sin (played by Choi Min-sik), who had been wrongly accused and dismissed from his position, is reinstated as the Chief of Naval Operations.
However, all that remains for him are soldiers who have lost their morale, and frightened citizens, as well as 12 ships. The last hope, the Turtle Ship, is also burnt down. When the mercenary Kurushima (played by Ryu Seung-ryong), known for his cruel nature and outstanding military tactics, becomes the leader of the Japanese army, Joseon becomes even more chaotic.
As more than 330 Japanese warships gather, and everyone senses the looming defeat in the face of overwhelming numbers, General Yi Sun-sin leads just 12 ships towards the sea of Myeongnyang...!
A great battle that changed history begins between 12 Joseon ships and 330 Japanese warships.K-Movie |
